Ethan Lipkind is an attorney, investor, and operator focusing on healthcare services and IT. Ethan served as Executive Chairman and Chief Restructuring Officer at Troy Medicare, where he turned the MAPD/DSNP plan around to industry leading 83% MLR. Ethan launched Troy.AI, care coordination software to support care management at the pharmacy, and rebuilt the plan’s compliance program exceeding all CMS metrics. In 2010, he founded and led a health care provider holding company, an entity he grew 3000% into a $300M 3-hospital (ASC + primary care/ER) and diagnostic imaging center system. As CEO and General Counsel, Ethan sourced and executed nearly 40 add-on platforms and joint-ventures. More recently, he led strategic initiatives at a $1.5B post-acute care benefit management company, where he developed and placed a first-ever value-based, at-risk post-acute product. He then served as the Chief Strategy & Development Officer at Clover Health (NASDAQ: CLOV), where he oversaw M&A, corporate strategy, BPO insurance operations and utilization management, medical economics, clinical network providers, product JVs, and 3rd party development. Today, Ethan is a Sr. Advisor to the CEO and President at Clover, where he focuses on transformational change and growth. He is also a healthcare investments advisor for a single-family office.
Ethan combines regulatory, operating, and finance experience to advise investment funds and healthcare services/IT companies on policy, industry trends, growth-strategies, external relations/compliance and optimized management. His core focus is on sourcing undervalued healthcare services/IT investments, reviewing due diligence, structuring transactions, and supporting continued growth through exit.
Ethan is a frequent conference speaker and panelist, with particular interest in current healthcare industry trends. He also sits on the Board of Directors and management committees of several health care providers.
Ethan received an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University, a law degree from Boston University, and an MBA in finance and healthcare management from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
